Geronimo Was “A Breather

"I was warmed by the sun, rocked by the winds and sheltered by the trees as other Indian babes. I was living peaceably when people began to speak bad of me. Now I can eat well, sleep well and be glad. I can go everywhere with a good feeling.

The soldiers never explained to the government when an Indian was wronged, but reported the misdeeds of the Indians. We took an oath not to do any wrong to each other or to scheme against each other.

I cannot think that we are useless or God would not have created us. There is one God looking down on us all. We are all the children of one God. The sun, the darkness, the winds are all listening to what we have to say. When a child, my mother taught me to kneel and pray to Usen for strength, health, wisdom and protection. Sometimes we prayed in silence, sometimes each one prayed aloud; sometimes an aged person prayed for all of us... and to Usen.

I was born on the prairies where the wind blew free and there was nothing to break the light of the sun. I was born where there were no enclosures."  Geronimo. Apache Indian Warrior.

From Mike:
A very brave young 19 year old man with a name very similar to the American Indian hero Geronimo came to me in North Carolina with a severe breathing dysfunction that I call UDB. He had over 30 factors on our UDB sheet and had gone to many New York  physicians who told him there was “nothing wrong with you”, "grow up", “it is in your head.” “You are just stressed out”, “it is emotional”, “All you need is Paxil”, or an anti depressant or mood stabilizer. He just “knew” they were wrong and that it had something to do with the way he was breathing. But he took the drugs anyway.  At age 19 we often, and appropriately so, know more about following than leading.

This young man was blessed (and accompanied to our office in North Carolina) with a loving, devoted and aware brother; plus a mother who, was to me like a combination of a rock, a blooming flower and a shade tree who would most likely and willingly place herself between her son’s body and the fires of hell. Frustrated with his travail, they were determined to help in any way they could.  They believed in God, Mother Mary and their “Geronimo”.

Geronimo intuited that the drugs were of no assistance. He had spent a lot of time researching on the internet. He sensed it was something to do with his breathing.

He did not feel his body very well (kind of out of touch) and was slow to realize physical change.  As I worked on his breathing I deduced from previous sessions with others, that the drugs seemed to keep his breathing rate fast, instead of allowing me to lower it, which I almost always do.  (Our Free Breathing Testsstatistics show clear correlation with excessively fast - over 5 - breathing rates with up to several hundred percent increase of diagnosed illness(s).

In spite of all that we worked for a few days and he finally broke through a barrier to what I observed as inkling/suspicion that he was breathing easier and with it that he could at last be his own man. Along with that his singing voice blossomed with a presence and phrasing that would have made Frank Sinatra smile.

Optimal Breathing School faculty member Earnestine Nix reminds me that the first book of the bible, written 3,500 years ago, uses the Hebrew word ne´pheshto describe the spirit in both man and animals.  This word literally means “a breather.”

From now on when I think of the cry “Geronimo”, I will think of yet another “breather”.  God bless you my young friend.
