Analyzing accelerometer data from over 89,500 participants, the study found that both patterns were linked to reduced risks of atrial fibrillation, myocardial infarction, heart failure, and stroke when compared to inactivity.


The results suggest that the weekend warrior pattern yields similar cardiovascular benefits as the regular workout pattern.
